SF Pack Night: a group primal play experience

Sliding scale $30-$50, NOTAFLOF

EVENT INFO

Pack Night is a freestyle group primal play event, allowing for communal exploration of the primal side that exists in the hidden recesses of all of our brains. This recurring safer space is for anyone who feels called to explore nonverbal primal play, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, or ability status. Each Pack Night is unique, and activities can range from the cooperation and competition of hunting games to the rough body play and catharsis of power battles to the serenity and vulnerability of a restorative cuddle puddle. Give yourself permission to growl, coo, hiss, or howl; see how your own primal creature moves, plays, fights, and communicates with the Pack. Challenge your perception of yourself, and unveil new ways to relate with your inner primal, access your needs and boundaries, and connect with a dynamic feral community.

Pack Night is deliberately maintained as both a beginner-friendly learning environment and a territory in which more experienced primals can continue to grow and evolve. In addition to the active playspace, there is a dedicated sensory-friendly calm corner and an area that allows for observation if playing is outside your comfort zone. SF Pack Night takes place on the ground floor of a community center, and the portion of the space we use includes an ADA bathroom.

Every Pack Night begins with an extensive group negotiation process, detailing rules and safety precautions, setting the expectations of the space, and giving those in attendance a chance to express their limits and goals for the evening. The negotiation is followed by optional guided vocal and somatic exercises to help you find your own primal embodiment and tap into that elusive animal headspace. Next, the floor opens up for monitored free-form primal exploration. As energies wind down, the night concludes with a closing circle to bring us back to human headspace and reintegrate our wild primal selves into our more domesticated everyday lives.

EVENT RULES

Doors open at 5 pm and close strictly at 5:30pm to ensure everyone who attends is present for our entire group negotiation process, so plan your travel accordingly!

We ask that you help us keep Pack Night scent neutral; this is a high-contact event, and many perfumes and scented body products contain potentially harmful allergens

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LATEX OR CITRUS ALLOWED AT PACK NIGHT. We have multiple community members with severe citrus and latex allergies, so be sure to triple check anything on your person for latex and any food you bring for citrus ingredients of any kind.

All attire is welcome as long as your bottom bits stay covered, and we usually suggest breathable clothing that you are comfortable moving around in. Fetishwear or animal gear is absolutely accepted, just keep in mind that things have the potential to get rough and can damage or otherwise impact your favorite leathers/tails/ears/etc.

Pack Night is strictly sex positive, but not sex active; sexual actions (aka kissing, fucking, rutting, mounting, etc) are prohibited throughout the event in order to create a safer container for other types of primal interaction. We ask that any arousal or attraction is explored in a more animalistic way, such as nuzzling, grooming, snuggling, etc.

This event relies heavily on nonverbal communication, so masks are optional for the duration. We have a number of policies and procedures to reduce the possibility of COVID-19 transmission and expand access to these events as widely as we can.

- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, including the most recent vaccine available since fall 2023, is required for first attendance to a Pack Night event. If you have a medical contraindication and wish to attend, please reach out to us.

- All attendees are required to show proof of a negative COVID test the day of the event, with first time attendees required to test at the door before entering the main event space. If you are financially able to supply your own test, please do so; we will have free test kits available at the door for those who need them.

- Two doses of the mpox vaccine are strongly recommended in advance of attending pack night. The CDC has an mpox vaccine locator tool which will point you to free options in your area.

All mats we use are cleaned with cavicide wipes before and after every play event. All toys, blankets, and other items that come into contact with sweat or saliva are machine washed on “sanitize” with hypoallergenic detergent after every play event.

In order to ensure these protocols are understood and followed by all in attendance, we require a very basic amount of vetting to attend a first play event with the Pack; no walk-ins are allowed. The venue location is given out upon confirmation. There are a few easy methods for Pack Night vetting:

- Tag along with a friend who is a packmate, and make sure they let us know you will be attending.

- Attend the Primal Munch and have a face-to-face conversation with one of the Pack leaders.

- Reach out to us here on Plura or message the @SFBayPack Fetlife account AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE EVENT, ideally sooner.

- - -

Pack events are sliding scale and NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds).

- If you can’t afford a ticket, SHOW UP ANYWAY. Just let us know you’ll be there so we have an accurate headcount.

- If you can afford a ticket, buy one at the level that feels appropriate for your income.

- If you never or rarely have to consider cost when deciding which events to attend, the level appropriate to you is AT LEAST the maximum suggested ticket price.

HOSTED BY

Aya (they/them) is an anxious feral queer who enjoys creating the kind of trouble others can join. Their area of expertise revolves primarily around organizing events, or as they like to call it, Community Topping. Since moving to the Bay Area in 2018, they have been active in the scene, especially among the Primal and Asexual communities. Aya can be reached @AnxiousAce on FetLife, but like most wild animals, responds best to treats and despises being observed.

Avery (they/them in the walking talking human world and it/its when in primal headspace) is an unrepentant primal beast who sometimes takes the form of a jackalope but more often simply vibes with the nonverbal human animal inside themself. They have engaged in primal play since long before they had the words to describe it, and primal identity is the central root from which all their other weirdnesses sprout. Avery is most often found at primal-centric events, but also enjoys exploring and playing with bondage, impact, electro, piercings, and more; finding the exciting and surprising ways any kink can interact with primal energy and intention is one of their favorite things. An enthusiastic part of the SF Bay Pack since its in-person reemergence after the COVID-19 lockdown, Avery is glad to have the opportunity and capacity to help sustain it as a space for others. They have years of community organizing experience, both in and out of the Bay Area scene, and are driven by a passionate belief in the restorative and fortifying powers of accessible trauma-informed kink. Avery can be found @lemonbodyhorror on most platforms.
