Shy Bi Babe: How to Flirt with Bi Girls Like You

Why can’t I flirt in gay? I want a girlfriend and can’t connect… How do I even get started?!

If you’re having trouble, I’m here to tell you, it’s not just you. Let’s talk about the obstacles women face finding each other… especially the bi ones! ESPECIALLY the ones who are blooming later! Especially the gender adventurers!

I’m a women’s and gender studies professor and I can help you think through all the reasons you might not be feeling “queer enough”, or why you can’t read a clue, let alone give one. Let’s talk about why you feel stuck when you’re trying to move things forward. I can’t tell you that I have the ANSWERS to these, but I promise that we can laugh about it together and meet OTHER cuties that are also wanting to match up.

$10 cash/$12CC

This class is intended for all the femme (or butch) folks who are interested in connecting sexually/romantically with non-cis-dudes. I can promise you that you ARE queer enough to come to this (hint: most of think we’re not). If you’re thinking about how to connect with others like you, this IS your space. Shout out to my BIPoC fam: Please come join me, we need more of us in these spaces, and I will always want to connect with you.

**If you’re a cis guy, we’d like you to skip this one**

Come join us at Sanctuary, a beautiful downtown club where you are welcome to stay after the class to connect with other Femmes/Themmes. You can pay your $10 entry fee at the door at Sanctuary. If money is AT ALL a barrier, message me so I can put you on the door list. SPP events are always sliding scale.

Attendees can stay for Devils Doorbell, an all-girls play party immediately following.

Jimena Alvarado: I am a Gender Professor and have been facilitating conversations about sexuality for 25 years. I prioritize conversational and emotional learning, and I rely on storytelling and humor as ways to integrate new concepts. I was born and raised in Costa Rica, migrated to Portland as an adult trying to leave homophobia. I have been a leader in SexPositivePortland for over 7 years, and I designed and teach our required Intersectionality class. I sit on the board of SPP and am in love with the organization that changed my life!
