Sculpt and Shadow

Presented by UsedByDisney and SirDyllan and Praxium

Please note our new doors closing time - 8:30PM!

This 45 minute workshop focuses on using a single light to sculpt an image to create a story written in shadow, lines, and negative space. We begin with a quick refresher on boudoir comfort language, consent, and agency.

We will concentrate on practical application of simple lighting techniques with minimal movement of equipment to add depth to your photographs. High powered and expensive equipment is not needed to create a good image.

While studios often use multiple lights to create their images, the same rules that apply to multiple lights apply to one, and often the inverse. We will focus on how to use single light sources to create soft, dramatic, and powerful images using common lighting techniques such as: Broad, Narrow, Rembrandt, Loop, Butterfly, Split, Silhouette, Upward, and Overhead lighting.

Bring your artistic brain, we’re going to get creative!

Doors open at 6:30 PM. No entry after 8:30PM.
