Step into the Summer of SOULFEST, a BIPOC-centered kinky celebration of early 2000s R&B. Relive the golden era of slow jams, club bangers, and unapologetic sensuality; where the bass was deep, the vibes were smooth, and every night felt like a scene straight out of an R&B music video!

This isn’t just a party—it’s a throwback to the club nights that raised us. The era of freakum dresses, low-rise jeans, du-rags, and Air Force 1s. As for the music? We’ll be kicking it to Usher, Ashanti, Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Destiny’s Child, and more!

EVENT DETAILS

🕗 Doors Open: 9:00 PM (doors close at 10:00 PM sharp)

🕗 Event Ends: 3:00 AM

📍 Location: Private studio near Union Square (full address in confirmation email)

🌟 Accessibility: This is a two flight walk-up space and may not be accessible to all.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Opening Circle: Our host will go over the guidelines on consent and mutual desire, ensuring that everyone is aligned in respecting this special, safe space. We'll also provide an overview of the various rooms, stations, and the range of activities available throughout the night.
2. Desire Board: To facilitate new connections and manifest fantasies, attendees will be given an opportunity to manifest their desires for the night by writing them down and pinning them to the Desire board!
3. Multiple Experience Rooms: Each room will be designed to match our attendees' varied tastes and interests, including the

💆🏾‍♀️ The Seduction Suite: Symbolizing renewal, warmth, and soft, intimate awakenings. This space is for sensual touch, light play, and deep relaxation.

💥 The Freak Room: This is where the heat is! A space for passionate, high-energy impact play that echoes the rhythm of the Rara drums.

🍬 The Sweet Spot: The warm, welcoming heart of the party where guests can refresh, snack, and connect.

🌙 The Afterparty: A quiet, grounding space for those who need to rest, recharge, and escape the high-energy vibes.

1. Facilitators: Our staff are all trained and on duty around the clock to ensure that you have a safe and welcoming experience while you are in our space.
2. Live Performances and Demonstrations: We will be offering different exhibitions for you throughout the night for those who are feeling more voyeuristic and are feeling more comfortable to just hang back and watch the excitement!

WHO CAN ATTEND

Obsidian Playground is an intentional, BIPOC-centered space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color of all genders and orientations. If you do not identify as BIPOC, you may attend only if you are accompanying a BIPOC partner. We reserve the right to remove anyone who disrupts the comfort or safety of the space. We’re going for Music Video Fly! We’d like you to fully capture the sexy, stylish, and effortlessly cool energy of an early 2000s R&B music video. Think BET’s 106 & Park, TRL, and the VIP section of the hottest club in town:

👸🏿 Femme Looks (Think: Aaliyah, Ashanti, Destiny’s Child, Ciara)

1. Low-rise everything: Jeans, mini skirts, cargo pants, or bedazzled shorts.
2. Crop tops & tube tops: The tinier, the better. Rhinestones? Even better.
3. Velour tracksuits: Juicy Couture or Baby Phat vibes. Sexy, comfy, and iconic.
4. Bodycon dresses & freakum fits: Think Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" energy.
