Step into the Summer of SOULFEST, a BIPOC-centered klnky celebration of '90s R&B. Relive the golden era of slow jams, club bangers, and unapologetic sensuaIity; where the bass wrapped around you, the melodies hit deep, and every moment felt like a scene straight out of an R&B music video!

This is much more than a party! it’s a throwback to the vibes that shaped us. The era of silk sets, baggy jeans, leather fits, bandanas, and Timberlands. Of basement kickbacks, late-night radio dedications, and dance floors filled with nothing but feeling. As for the music? We’re taking it back with Aaliyah, TLC, Jodeci, Mary J. Blige, Boyz II Men, SWV, Ginuwine, and more! The sounds that defined a generation and set the tone for everything that came after.

📍 Location: Private studio near Union Square (full address in confirmation email)

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Opening Circle: Our host will go over the guidelines on consent and mutual desire, ensuring that everyone is aligned in respecting this special, safe space. We'll also provide an overview of the various rooms, stations, and the range of activities available throughout the night.
• Desire Board: To facilitate new connections and manifest fantasies, attendees will be given an opportunity to manifest their desires for the night by writing them down and pinning them to the Desire board!
• Multiple Experience Rooms: Each room will be designed to match our attendees' varied tastes and interests, including the

💆🏾‍♀️ The Seduction Suite: Symbolizing renewal, warmth, and soft, intimate awakenings. This space is for sensual touch, light play, and deep relaxation.

💥 The Freak Room: This is where the heat is! A space for passionate, high-energy impact play that echoes the rhythm of the Rara drums.

🍬 The Sweet Spot: The warm, welcoming heart of the party where guests can refresh, snack, and connect.

🌙 The Afterparty: A quiet, grounding space for those who need to rest, recharge, and escape the high-energy vibes.

• Facilitators: Our staff are all trained and on duty around the clock to ensure that you have a safe and welcoming experience while you are in our space.
• Live Performances and Demonstrations: We will be offering different exhibitions for you throughout the night for those who are feeling more voyeuristic and are feeling more comfortable to just hang back and watch the excitement!

WHO CAN ATTEND

Obsidian Playground is an intentional, BIPOC-centered space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color of all genders and orientations. If you do not identify as BIPOC, you may attend only if you are accompanying a BIPOC partner. We reserve the right to remove anyone who disrupts the comfort or safety of the space. You must be 21+ to attend.

We’re going for Music Video Fly (90s Edition). We’d like you to fully capture the smooth, sexy, and effortlessly cool energy of a 90s R&B music video. Think BET after dark, basement kickbacks, and dimly lit dance floors where the slow jams hit just right:

• Baggy jeans & oversized fits: Worn low, relaxed, and unapologetically cool.
• Crop tops, bralettes, & fitted tanks: Simple, sexy, and effortless.
• Mini skirts & slip dresses: Satin, leather, or anything that catches the light.
• Leather pieces: Jackets, pants, or full monochrome looks.
• Matching sets: Coordinated but still laid-back.
