This month's Theme:

Everyone has a Spank Bank — that private mental archive of the moments that made your pulse race and your body remember. Orgasms or perfect bodies? Nah. Really, it’s about the electric charge of a glance across a crowded room, the feel of someone’s hand at the small of your back, of the moment you realized someone saw all of you and wanted you every bit of it. These are the scenes we replay when the world feels dull or distant — proof that we’ve been alive, desired, and thrillingly out of control.

But your Spank Bank isn’t only about sex; it’s about story. Each memory teaches you something about what you crave, what surprises you, what power dynamics make your skin hum. It’s a living anthology of your erotic evolution that needs to be told — stories of the lovers who taught you, the risks you took, the times you were brave enough to say yes. It reminds us that our lives can change in a moment and if it happened once, it will happen again.

Performers include:

Don Reed was born and raised in Oakland, CA with no intention of becoming a comedian and storyteller, but life had other ideas. Don is an NPR Snap Judgment Storyteller of the Year and a newly minted Simon & Schuster author. His 9 solo storytelling shows have won and been nominated for multiple Theatre Bay Area, Off Broadway, and San Francisco Theatre Critics Circle awards. He was triple nominated for the 2024 BroadwayWorld San Francisco Bay Area Awards for Best Solo Performance/Best Play/Best Director. Reed was also the longtime opening act/warm-up comedian for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He recently partnered with Johnny Carson's - Carson Entertainment Group for his multi-media one man show "The Never Too Late Show", sharing producing duties with Seinfeld writer Pat Hazell. Don is the host and creator of Marin’s Redwood Nights: Storytelling Under the Stars - sharing producing duties with friend and entertainment partner Mike Ghiringhelli.

Harriett Jernigan is a writer and live storyteller who splits her time between the Bay Area and Germany. When she finished her dissertation on BDSM, she taught herself how to be a pastry chef for fun. A Moth Grand Slam finalist who's been featured on the Moth Podcast and the Moth Radio Hour, she has collaborated with Naked Truth, Radium Runway, Simply Said, and Backfence PDX. She is also the founder and producer of First Person, a live storytelling workshop and event that platforms underrepresented and marginalized performers. When she’s not doing any of that, she’s either baking or fencing.

Maggie Mayhem is returning to the Bawdy Storytelling stage after 13 years away traveling the world as a sex, birth, and death worker fighting for our rights to privacy and bodily autonomy. Her activist work in underground abortion has been featured in The Atlantic and she has appeared at the UN Internet Governance Forum, Center for Democracy and Technology, SxSW, DEFCON, Hackers on Planet Earth, and universities across the globe. She is based in San Francisco where she enjoys beekeeping, marathons, and textile arts. Her website is MaggieMayhem.Com.

Darshana Avila is a trauma-informed somatic educator, practitioner and international speaker who helps people reconnect with the most essential aspects of themselves — their truth, their desires, and their capacity for profound pleasure and power.

Known for her grounded, candid, and relational approach, she bridges the worlds of erotic embodiment, emotional intelligence, and personal agency with depth and accessibility.

Darshana’s work has been featured on Netflix’s Sex, Love & goop, The Guardian, The New Yorker, and numerous leading podcasts.

Belinda Blair is a versatile singer, bandleader, ukulele player and performer of swing, jazz, blues, indie rock and lounge music in the San Francisco bay area and beyond. She began performing her tongue-in-cheek ukulele act for the Burning Man Community where she developed her bawdy lyrics to old jazz songs, genre-bending interpretations of rock covers as well as her own originals. Currently, she performs with her bands, Pip Squeak and Jellyroll in and around the bay area.
