8:30pm-2am
Mission Control seeks to reignite a bit of the original’s glory. Whether you are a master of the hustle or someone who simply moves with the beat, this is your moment. This is the night to let rhythm take control as you move your feet to the infectious “four on the floor” Disco beat!
Pull out your dancing shoes and grab your most eye-catching attire. Glitz, glam, sexiness, and a touch of the outrageous. Does your outfit scream “fabulous”?
Studio 54 is not the place to go if you’re looking for a tame night out. The dance floor, the cottage, the dungeon, and maybe even the lounge are all going to be hot and sexy. How hot? That's up to you.
Meet our DJs!
DJ 80085 (boobs) curates titillating disco & diva house tunes for the gays, theys, & slays to make you stay perky. Host of Discotitz, a bi-weekly radio show streaming on community radio bff.fm, DJ 80085 explores disco sounds from across eras and cultures with an unserious princess persona. She grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, and got introduced to disco by her dad growing up. Now, disco is a way to reconnect to her upbringing, a testament to the vast reach of disco across borders paired with a rich history that stems from Black cultural resistance: Disco is a fuel for our collective liberation!
DJ Boötes (aka Yaniv) spins deep, funky grooves from and for many decades, with an abiding and particular love for disco and mixing bright dance energy with heady textures. Beginning in the underground rave scene in the mid-90s, his music features regularly at many Bay Area community events, from boat parties to forest renegades, from warehouses and clubs to smaller themed parties, from sunrise to sunset and back again. And through it all, few things make him happier than a dance floor full of true disco enthusiasts.
Consent is paramount. Do not touch anyone on the dance floor or anywhere else without a verbal “yes”.
Don’t bring an afro wig; cultural appropriation ain’t cool.
To get past Studio 54’s bouncers, you need to be a member of Mission Control or a guest of a member (join for free). Have a ticket. Tickets are free for Mission Control Alliance members. Be 21+ with ID. Show up with your PAL (Pervy Activity Liaison), and show proof of a same day negative COVID test.
Please note, this is a BYOB event. The party provides some mixers and non-alcoholic drinks, but no alcohol sales. And unlike the New York Club, Mission Control is a drug free zone.
Disco was beyond a fun musical style, it was a unique collaboration between Queer, Black, and Latino cultures. The 1970s was still an era of rampant discrimination and Gay men dancing together in public was illegal. Disco musicians and dancers found avenues of self-expression on the dance floor in underground events playing records. Disco music steadily gained popularity and eventually moved up to public discotheques. The original Studio 54 then became indisputably the best nightclub in history! With sexiness everywhere and mattresses down in the basement, Studio 54 was a precursor to today’s play party scene.
We LOVE our volunteers. Mission Control is completely volunteer run, and volunteers are what will make Studio 54 a success. Volunteers also get free tickets. Sign up here: volunteer
No one turned away for lack of funds. If you need a free or discounted ticket, let us know here.
Look forward to seeing all of your sexy bodies out on the dance floor!
