Welcome to our first Sunset Poly Happy Hour! We're a non-monogamous happy hour bringing together communities from across the Bay Area.

Logistics

Arriving:

Come anytime 6:30pm-9:30pm! Please note this venue is a 21+ bar so please bring a photo ID if you intend to drink. There is no cover but buy a drink or two if you can! The bar will remain open later but hosts may not stick around.

The venue has graciously allowed us to gather at no cost. Let's pay it back by being respectful and tipping the wonderful bartenders.

You are welcome to bring in outside food. There are many great restaurants on the surrounding blocks including vegan options if you want to go the extra mile to show the Sunset some love.

Fireside has an outdoor parklet with seating and is dog friendly!

Best lines for public transportation: N Judah, 7, and 44.

There is free street parking in the neighborhood as well as two paid lots; one next to independence High School on 7th and one between 8th and 9th (search the Inner Sunset Farmers Market)

Event Guidelines

• Respectful Behavior toward hosts and guests is required. Anyone who violates these rules may be asked to leave the event.

• No photography, video, or recording of any kind is allowed without prior verbal consent of all parties involved.

• Verbal Consent: Please be sure to ask and wait for a yes before hugging or initiating any physical contact, and encourage each other to speak openly helps foster a culture where personal boundaries are supported. (i.e. "Can give you a hug?" "No thank you, but I would love a handshake.")

• Expectations: Our events are about developing friendships and connections within the community. Check your expectations at the door. Being at this event does not signal sexual availability or indicate any aspect of sexual orientation. This is a no cruising event, in order to maintain a comfortable atmosphere for our guests.

What is a "no cruising" event?

The "no cruising" guideline is about your intentions. If you're attending primarily to collect phone numbers or line up dates, this may not be the right space for you. However, if you're coming to socialize and connect with other poly people, that's perfect! And if a natural connection forms and leads to a date, that's totally okay just like how you might meet someone at a running club without it being a dating event.

The key is to avoid making this feel like a meat market. This is a social event, not a hookup or dating event. We want everyone to feel at ease, and being on the receiving end of persistent advances can make people uncomfortable. Let's keep the vibe friendly, inclusive, and respectful.

Poly Happy Hour brings together the Bay Area non-monogamous community, from long-timers to those just thinking about exploring, for an afternoon of mingling, friend-making and catching up. We welcome all the non-monogamous, poly-curious, relationship anarchists, queer-of-all-sorts, supportive friends, singles, couples, polycules, et al. to help us create a safe space for all orientations and all kink and gender identities.
