Tension NYC is part of The Sanctuary Sessions — our intimate, intentional gatherings held inside The Sanctuary of East Harlem. This is an inclusive, rope-centered social and educational event focused on connection, skill-sharing, learning, and intentional rope-focused play.

If you’ve ever felt rope create a conversation between bodies — trust built strand by strand, breath by breath — you already know what this space offers. This is rope with intention. Creativity with consent. Play rooted in connection.

WHAT TO EXPECT

2:00 PM | Doors Open

1. Arrive, settle in, and connect with the room.

3:00 PM | Doors Close

All participants must arrive before 3PM.

1. Doors close at 3PM to protect the container, pacing, and shared agreements.

Welcome Circle + Agreements Review

1. We arrive together, introduce ourselves, and review consent practices, shared agreements, and house rules.

First Two Hours | Skill-Share + Learning Lab

1. A social, collaborative rope learning space open to all experience levels — from brand new to rope to seasoned practitioners.
2. Bring what you know. Bring what you’re curious about.
3. This is a place to explore without pressure.

Final Two Hours | Rope-Focused Open Play

1. The space transitions into open rope play. Scenes may include sensual, erotic, or power-exchange elements alongside rope and bondage — provided they are clearly negotiated and aligned with community agreements.

Aftercare + Landing

1. A gentle closing space to integrate before heading home.

The experience is spacious and real — not performative, not rushed. Just intentional rope, held well.

The Sanctuary of East Harlem is a members-based space, and Tension NYC is shaped by the values and culture of our community — care, intention, and accountability. Membership isn’t required to attend, but joining allows you to engage more deeply, access discounted events and participate in our weekly online room, Conscious Conversartions, for free.
