Tethered & Tied : A Neuro- Spicy Shibari Experience

TETHERED & TIED

An Immersive Authentic Relating Workshop & Jam | All Levels Welcome

For those who crave sensory connection, nervous system healing, and trauma-informed intimacy through rope.

📍 Address provided in confirmation email.

📝 Note: This is a fully clothed, non-sex based educational rope event focused on sensation, communication, and embodied attunement. Tethered Presence is a trauma-aware, neurodivergent-inclusive Shibari workshop centered on embodiment, mindfulness, and emotional self-awareness. Using rope as a tool for somatic practice, this class offers both self-tie and partner tie options to help you connect deeply—with your body, your breath, your nervous system, and your needs.

This is not a performance space. This is a slow, consensual, and supportive container for curious beginners, seasoned rope players, and especially neurodivergent folx (ADHD, Autism, Sensory Sensitivity, etc.) seeking tools for regulation, connection, and inner stillness.

Body-Mind Grounding & Breath

• Breathwork to regulate your nervous system

• Rope movement drills to build coordination and anchor awareness

• Exploring how rope changes our state of being—both in solo and partner interaction

Relational Rope Practice (Partner Tie Option)

• Communication drills: asking for what you need and hearing your partner reflect it back

• Direction-giving practice: explore both Top and Bottom roles to build clarity and consent

• Feedback rounds: understanding how rope lands in your body and your partner’s

Guided Self-Tie Meditation

• Learn to use rope as a tactile meditation anchor

• Explore different sensations (tight vs. soft, slow vs. intense) to expand body awareness

• Somatic inquiry: What does this feel like? Where’s my breath? What’s moving inside me?

Neurodivergent-Friendly Tools

• Techniques for calming a racing mind and managing sensory overwhelm

• Practices to help ADHD/Autistic folx access more grounding, agency, and embodiment in both rope and everyday life

• Rope as scaffolding for emotional regulation, self-love, and internal connection

Why This Work Matters:

In a world that moves fast—especially in cities like NYC—many of us live in a state of mental noise, hypervigilance, or disconnection from our bodies. For neurodivergent folks, this can be amplified by sensory overload, masking, or feeling “20 thoughts deep.”

Rope becomes a gateway back into yourself.

When you self-tie or connect through rope with a partner, you begin to slow down, notice sensations, sync breath, and tap into your body’s natural wisdom. It’s not just about rope—it’s about re-sourcing your energy, increasing emotional fluency, and shifting from reactivity to intention.

This Workshop Is For You If:

• You are neurodivergent and seeking somatic tools for self-regulation and grounding

• You’re curious about Shibari and want to explore in a trauma-aware, low-pressure space

• You want to deepen your relationship to self through breath and touch

• You’re looking to be a better partner in rope—through communication, listening, and presence

• You crave more mindfulness, connection, and conscious embodiment in your life
