Every first Friday of the month, 8:30pm to 1:00am, at Transform1060 (1060 Folsom St., San Francisco). Doors close at 11pm.

Mission, Vision, Theme, and Focus

A party by transmasculine people for transmasculine people, where trans attendees are the focus–not an afterthought. We celebrate the diversity of trans bodies and the many ways of being trans, and explicitly affirm the identities of trans men as men. We aim to create a “men’s party” atmosphere that feels comfortable, safe, and welcoming to transmasculine attendees and their guests. We are firmly against the use of any fetishizing language or imagery within this event space.

Attendance and Guest Policy

Anyone who identifies as a trans man, trans guy, trans boy/boi, transmasculine, transmasc/trans masc, FTM, or masc-of-center is welcome to attend. Gender expansive people who self-identify with any of the aforementioned identities for the purposes of the party are welcome. Transmasculine attendees are limited to one (1) non-transmasculine guest. Guests must enter at the door with their attendee.

Your donations provide access to those who cannot otherwise afford a ticket. Free admission is available to anyone who has a need (with priority going to BIPOC attendees and guests) but must be arranged with hosts at least 24 hours in advance over email (sfbackroombros@gmail.com).

Staffing and Volunteers

The party is staffed jointly by transmasculine hosts and transmasculine volunteers. Volunteer helpers will be admitted on a case-by-case basis after vetting. Volunteering is not required for the free ticket option; and please note that volunteers still need to obtain a ticket in some form to attend the party. Interested in volunteering? Your hosts are a group of trans men/transmasculine organizers from across the Bay Area. We each bring our own skillset, passions, and talents to this party. Together, we have years of experience with our boots on the ground.

Accessibility Information

Our venue, Transform1060, has five steps inside the door down to the front desk and main play area. There is an additional set of stairs leading up to the locker room and quiet area. The space is not wheelchair accessible at this time. The downstairs bathroom is fairly large and has two toilets next to each other, but is not ADA compliant, as it has no grab bars and the sink is too high. The lockers and quiet room are up a flight of stairs. There are accessible lockers downstairs by the front desk, however they do not currently have locks.

COVID-19

Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (such as a labelled picture of your result) is required to be shown at the door prior to the party. Please test within 24 hours in advance of the party to streamline the check-in process for everyone. Tests may be purchased cheaply and taken at the door if needed. Masking is not required, but participants are encouraged to do so.
