The Duality Sequence with Lief and Icky

Lief and Icky are back on June 25 with a suspension level class!

Learning a suspension sequence is a wonderful way to advance your rope suspensions skills. This advanced suspension sequence created by Lief takes a shape and turns it on it’s head. It’s a beautiful, tortuous sequence that uses a chest harness, a booty basket, and a calf binder to start face up and invert face down with variations to continue on and create even more shapes.

In this class we will teach you how we tie our booty basket and calf binder patterns. Then, we will demo the sequence and provide instruction on how to achieve the transitions. Finally, everyone will get to try out to sequence themselves with assistance from Lief and Icky!

Kind of Class: hands on, taught on a ring

Skill Level: Advanced

Prerequisites:

- a SOLID suspendable chest harness that is not a box tie. Arms free, tengu, arms in front are all fine options.

- good upline management on a ring is a plus.

- prior experience tying with your partner.

- multiple prior successful suspensions.

Materials Needed:

Rope - 8 to 12 hanks of rope suited for suspension. We will be using jute.

Suspension equipment- we will be using a Ring, climbing strap, and carabiners.

Cutting Tool - Make sure you bring a cutting tool for safety. If you do not have a cutting tool, you will not be able to participate in the exercises

About the presenters:

Lief Bound (He/They) and Icky (He/They) are queer and trans rope educators and performance artists currently residing in San Francisco, California. Lief Bound is a rope switch who found their love of rope ten years ago and believes that rope can be the most honest way that we can connect with each other. Icky is a switchy pain enthusiast who started their rope bottoming exploration ten years ago and is most passionate about exploring intersectionality and positionality in consent. Their teaching styles bring the best of both worlds combining crucial perspectives of the top and the bottom. They value consent and safety in every topic they teach, bringing an inclusive and trauma-informed approach to learning rope bondage. Lief and Icky are most passionate about using multimedia process art to share their vision with the world and push the boundaries of what defines rope.
