The History of Kink: a sex panel on history, sex, queerness, and BDSM

  • Hosted by Pleasure Science
  • Los Angeles, CA -
  • 14 people on the list-

Come hang at an art gallery and learn about the history of sexuality & kink! All proceeds of this event go to the Carter Johnson Library.

During the height of the AIDs epidemic, historical artifacts about queer people and kinky people were being burned and destroyed. So Vi Johnson and her wife Jill Carter began saving these artifacts and soon this turned into a global mission to keep queer history, sex history, and kinky history alive.

Today, hundreds of these artifacts are now safely protected at THE CARTER JOHNSON LIBRARY - the largest library of sex, kink, and LGBTQ history in the world.

This Library isn't just a collection of history, it is also a safe space for queer youth to gather and stay when struggling with homelessness.

The History of Kink sex panel is a fundraiser for this library! We welcome you to join us at a Marmalade Art Studio, a queer art gallery, to learn from three experts in the history of sexuality and BDSM.

  • Ever wondered how far back in history we can trace BDSM?
  • Ever wondered how humans in ancient times viewed sexuality & queerness?
  • Well, be prepared to learn all this and more.
  • We will even have some artifacts from the library on display!

All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Carter Johnson Library. By purchasing a ticket you are donating to the library.

Come for the art and sexy knowledge, and leave knowing that you're contributing to one of the most important libraries around today.

Thank you for helping keep queer and kink history alive.
