Join Ojipan for a deep dive into the wide world of 'style' in shibari. We use 'style' as a shorthand for a complex web of ideas, goals, and aesthetics - but why?
What does that mean to tie "Naka style" harnesses? Why might you prefer one style over another? Is it important to have a style at all, borrowed or your own? Let's find out!
We’ll dig into:
• Where do styles come from? Why do they develop?
• Why do most named styles reference men?
• What does it mean to invoke someone else's style when we tie? How do we balance reference with authenticity?
