The Squirmer & The Drooler

Blue and Moxie are excited to bring this class back to VoxBody. Join us for two floor ties for sexytimes - The Squirmer and The Drooler. (We are hoping the names already have you a bit intrigued!)

We'll get started with a brief discussion on what elements can make a tie suitable for play/sexytimes.

Both ties - the Squirmer and the Drooler - involve an upper and lower body tie. We will demonstrate each full tie first and then walk-through the pattern for attendees to tie-along and then have time to play and explore.

PRE-REQUISITES

This is a '201' level rope class.

Attendees who are tying should be proficient with column ties and inline column ties/hojo cuffs, familiar with frictions and lock-offs, and comfortable following a rope bondage pattern.

Attendees getting tied should be comfortable communicating boundaries, having their wrists tied and in tension, and general body awareness in rope.

Tho the ties themselves are minimalistic, the restraint and overall effect requires established communication between partners and a solid foundation of experience in rope.

If you are currently moving through VoxBody's Core Curriculum, this class is appropriate for those who have attended at least a few Progressions classes.

For those experienced with suspension, we will also show an optional partial suspension position for each tie. We promise, these ties work as floor ties or partials. This is NOT an introduction to how to create and lock-off suspension lines. Each tying pair will have access to a point.

GEAR NEEDED

Depending on the length of your ropes and the body you are tying, you will need 2-6 lengths of rope. We will be demonstrating with jute at 8m length, but bring what you have! Keep in mind that the frictions we use are best suited for organic material ropes and may need to be modified for synthetic ropes.

We do have loaner rope for use in class; please note this rope is NOT to be used in suspension. LOANER ROPE IS ALSO NOT TO BE USED IN MOUTHS OR ANYWHERE THERE WILL BE BODILY FLUIDS.

If you have suspension experience, bring your suspension gear. Single points will be available.

Class start time is 2:30pm. Doors will open at 2:15pm and be locked at 2:45. Please plan your travel time accordingly!

If finances are a barrier for your attendance in this class, please email us at voxbody@gmail.com. We have limited observer scholarship spots available!

About the presenters:

Blue (she/her): Blue has been teaching and performing rope bondage since 2012. In June 2017, she opened VoxBody Studio, the Bay Area's first rope-dedicated venue. Blue is part of an active rope community in the Bay Area, teaching classes and hosting events regularly and performing at events such as Folsom Street Fair, Twisted Windows and Vau de Vire Society productions. She has also presented at RopeCraft, Bondage Expo Dallas, Desert Bound and Karada House’s QueerRope event. Blue is an enthusiastic sWitch, believes bondage education should address both sides of the rope, and is so proud of the Vox-community. Find her on IG @miss_true_blue.

Moxie (she/her): Moxie has been rope bottoming since 2015, and started tying a few years into her rope journey. She’s passionate about restraint, aesthetics, body awareness, and rope that makes her feel distressed. She enjoys exploring ties that can be challenging and awkward, as well as repeating familiar shapes in ties that bring new knowledge and experience over time. Moxie has performed at events such as Twisted Windows, Folsom Street Fair, and Nuit des Cordes, attended NARIX 2016, and has bottomed for Kazami Ranki. She practices aerial and flexibility outside of rope to stay connected with her body and gain understanding of how our bodies communicate to us. Find her on IG and FL @boundmoxie.
