Shay and Angel return with more shenanigans for both self-tiers AND partnered suspension!
If ankle cuff inversions strike you as a grudge match with gravity, this class endeavors to offer a more cooperative conspiracy.
We’ll walk through the gravity boot pattern – a friendlier route to getting gloriously upside-down from a foot (or two) while maintaining speaking terms with your ankles – and showcase it in a partial suspension before taking it for a spin in a full suspension sequence suitable for partnered or self-suspension play.
Options for dynamic self-suspension will also be offered.
Hands-on time will give attendees with appropriate experience time to try either the partial or (advanced) the suspension sequence.
Pre-requisites:
This class is self- or partnered-suspension friendly!
* Tyers: The ability to independently tie a suspension-worthy chest and hip harness and secure hanger and upline configuration. Experience tying partials and at least two suspension positions.
* Flyers: Ability to recognize and communicate physical and emotional concerns while in rope. Experience being in inversion.
* Self-suspenders: All the requirements for both tyers and flyers, with specific experience in a self-suspension context.
* Everyone: Knowledge of safety basics. Risk awareness and self-knowledge to participate at a level that is safe(r) for you.
No one tie will work for every human. This minimalist tie prioritizes movement over support. The suspension is an “advanced” sequence from a flyer & tyer perspective; as a partial, it is imminently scale-able!
Materials needed:
A basic suspension kit for single points. Ideally, attendees will hang two suspension points; bring an extra strap if possible. Nylon rope is recommended for harnesses; at least one rated upline (nylon, POSH, etc) is required.
7:15pm: Doors open. Please arrive with time to check-in and set up your point before class start time!
7:30pm: Class starts. 7:45pm doors closed/no late entry.
Tickets are available for both self-suspenders and tying pairs. Be sure to register with the correct ticket so we have an accurate count of attendee make-up. One self-suspender per point, with the option to bring along a spotter. One tying pair per point.
About the presenter:
Shay Tiziano (she/her or they/them) is a renowned bondage performer, presenter, and self-suspender known for their friendly, attainable, and risk-awareness-focused approach to kink education and innovative, intense performances. She is the author of three books, including Tying & Flying, the first-ever book about self-suspension. Based in San Francisco, Shay is the stages & entertainment lead for the Folsom Street Fair and produces the bondage and fetish performance event Twisted Windows. She takes a warm, nerdy approach, with classes that are both entertaining (they've been called “better than a Vegas show”) and packed with useful information and applicable skills.
Angel (he/him) is a self-suspender and rope switch who brings an extensive background in sailing, physics, and general creative shenanigans to his bondage practices. He finds immense joy in the meticulous process of choreography and rehearsal, exhibiting a fervent enthusiasm for revisiting specific bottoming sequences repeatedly and practicing to a level that most folks would find somewhat unhinged. He is a durable human who loves to experiment, push boundaries, and redefine what Western-style rope can be.
