We are delighted to offer this class with Insignia exploring the anatomy of torsions in suspension.
Torsion is one of the most misunderstood (and most risky) forces in rope. This Intermediate class explores the anatomy of twisted bodies in rope, how to recognize unsafe load paths, and how to adjust for healthy rotation.
This class includes a brief lecture, anatomy, exercises to improve torsions on both sides, and a full suspension sequence, with plenty of tying time for attending pairs!
PREREQUISITES:
Attendees should both have prior successful suspension experience, including experience tying together and communicating through troubleshooting. Bottoms should have experience distinguishing between circulation and nerve issues in rope. While the sequence in the demo can be considered an 'intermediate' sequence, this is so that our deeper focus can be on the torsion. This is NOT meant to be one of your first suspensions, from either side of the rope!
MATERIALS:
Full suspension kit. Every attending pair will have access to a single point; bring all straps and carabiners needed.
If finances are a barrier for your attendance, please email us at voxbody@gmail.com; we have limited scholarship observer spots available for this class!
