This class is about using movement and body manipulation in order to feel power dynamics in rope. We find that many people who want to be tied want to experience a power dynamic and feel a sense of surrendering or submitting. In this class we explore several specific techniques and strategies that we use in order to make space for the person in ropes to feel comfortable settling into this type of head space.
Tickets are available now for this exclusive partnered class and attendance will be limited to 20 pairs (40 people).
This is a partnered tying class, self-tiers are welcome to attend but may not get a lot out of the class. Tops should be able to tie a chest harness that binds the hands. It does not have to be suspension worthy. We will use a chest harness that binds the hands behind the back, but having the hands behind the back is not strictly necessary in order to participate in the class. Bottoms should have a good sense of themselves in rope and a good sense of their balance and their bodies, as we will be doing a lot of movement during this class. Bottoms should also be able to distinguish between nerve and circulation issues, and both parties should be communicating effectively in order to tie together. This class is focused on experiencing power dynamics, submission, and surrender in ropes.
Participants should have an interest in exploring this kind of experience in rope together, and feel comfortable practicing aspects of it in a class setting.
Dancehalldyke (she/they) and SluttyHands (he/him) are San Francisco Bay based rope artists. Sluttyhands has been tying for ten years, Dancehalldyke for seven. They both primarily tie in fairly traditional Japanese styles and are heavily influenced by Barkas and Addie. Their tying together typically focuses on going to dark and vulnerable places and playing with a lot of emotions, and can range from violent and rough, to creepy and distant, and occasionally even to sincere and loving. They want to offer you new ways of exploring each other with rope, to show you concrete tools beyond patterns that allow you to relate and communicate with each other effectively.
