Vancouver Poly 101: Metamours and More

Join us for our monthly discussion, co-facilitated by Megan Vaudry and Mel Cassidy.

Our topic this month is "Metamours and More!"

This month we're talking about the relationships we have with our 'metamours', the partners of our partners — and with the extended polycule!

Some things we'll be talking about:

- Disclosure about metamours: how much you like to know about the other people your partners are seeing, and when?

- How do you navigate that first meeting with a metamour? What's worked — and what *didn't* work?

- The pros and cons of getting to know your metamours and extended polycules.

- "Parallel" versus "Garden Party" versus "Kitchen Table" polyamory

- Navigating the metamour relationship during/post breakup.

This month we are meeting at The Tipper Restaurant on Kingsway, in their private room.

Evening Outline:

6:30: Arrive, socialising, order food & drinks

7:00: Discussion opens.

8:15: Discussion wraps up.*

*please note: The Tipper officially closes at 8pm, but they're allowing us to stay late to wrap up our discussion. We have to be out by 8:30pm.

***About Vancouver Poly 101***

Vancouver Poly 101 is an online and in-person group, located on Coast Salish territories, specifically the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, in Vancouver BC, whose purpose is to connect individuals, primarily in the local area for discussion, education and friendship.

We acknowledge and recognize the role of colonialism in disrupting Indigenous relationships, including the punishment of non-monogamous intimate relationships.

The group was created for and by people who are exploring or committed to relationships that fall outside the societal norms of monogamy.

Activities of the group include, but are not limited to:

- A Facebook group

- Monthly, in-person facilitated discussions, sometimes with guest speakers

- Sharing of resources and media

- Creating a safer space, both online and in-person, where friendship and mutual peer support can flourish

- Member-organized in-person events
