Are You Interested in Being a Dungeon Monitor (DM)?
Join Sir Dyllan and UsedByDisney for a comprehensive, no-nonsense virtual training session on what it means to be a Dungeon Monitor. This class is ideal for anyone who is looking to deepen their understanding or sharpen their skills – whether that be on safety, scene management, and the ethical responsibility within dungeon or kink play spaces.
This class will cover:
- Key Roles & Responsibilities of a Dungeon Monitor: Learn what it means to be the eyes and ears of the dungeon—ensuring safety, enforcing rules (without being an asshole), and staying calm under pressure.
- What You’ll Be Watching For: Learn how to identify red flags, intervene appropriately, and support high-risk or intense scenes without disrupting flow.
- How to Handle Communication & Consent: Build the skills to navigate difficult conversations with tact and respect, and understand the nuances of consent in both play and non-play interactions.
- How to Handle Scene-Specific Protocols: Gain insights into edge play, medical scenes, suspension, fire/wax play, and more. Know when to monitor closely—and when to step in.
- Emergency & Equipment Readiness: From AED use to identifying unsafe furniture, you’ll learn the practical tools and preparedness that make an excellent DM.
- Common DM Missteps: Learn how to avoid the common pitfalls of DM’ing—coaching mid-scene, touching without consent, or neglecting your zone of responsibility.
This class is taught with real-life examples, scenario practice, and plenty of space for questions, this class will leave you informed, empowered, and ready to serve your community.
Come ready to learn and please take notes, and be prepared to be part of the conversation.
Notes:
- This training does not certify you as a Dungeon Monitor. Certification is typically handled by individual dungeons or event organizers. Most venues will require one or more shadow shifts following this training before approving someone to DM independently.
- This will be our first in a series of classes specifically for those interested in being a Dungeon Monitor, and we will be following-up with with an in-person CPR, First-Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens class as well.
Tickets for this class/workshop are free but you must register to get the information for the Zoom class.
