Curious about rope but not sure where to start? This is the spot.
910WeHo is delighted to partner with Devil Mask Studio to bring the Studio's top-notch rope instruction to our West Hollywood venue. Whether you're flying solo or bringing a buddy, this intro class is designed to help you dip your toes into the world of rope bondage - no experience, supplies, or partner required.
We’ll break down the basics of consent, connection, and rope handling through fun, low-pressure exercises. You’ll learn foundational knots, explore how rope feels on your own body or someone else's, and get answers to all the questions you were too shy to ask.
We also include time to meet new folks, get your hands on some rope, and see if this thing is for you. (Spoiler: it probably is.)
7:00-7:30 - Social & Mixer Games
7:30-8:30 - Lesson: Introduction to Shibari
8:30-9:00 - Open Practice & Play
Devil Mask Studio is a queer owned and operated Shibari studio located in downtown Los Angeles that strives to create a safe(r) space which respects, celebrates, and explores the variety of gender, sexual expressions, and identifications.
Nora Last (they/them) is a queer switch, cheesemonger emeritus, and the Big Boss of Devil Mask Studio. You’ll most frequently see them behind the desk, running registration from our nerve center. Nora brings over a decade of experience to the studio, having taught across North America about the intersections of rope, embodiment, neurodiversity, and kink. Their work has been strongly shaped by collaboration with a number of educators, most importantly Ojipan, GoodMostTimes, and Hedwig.
Andrew (he/him) has lived in DTLA for over fifteen years, many of them teaching rope. Andrew is a founding member of The Devil Mask Society, our COO, and the tying instructor for Studio Series classes. He’s probably got his headphones in so you’ll have to speak up.
