Sensation play is the art of exploring the body’s response to touch, anticipation, and contrast. In this workshop, we’ll dive into the wide spectrum of sensations—from soft and teasing to sharp and intense—and how to layer them intentionally for powerful physical impact.
Students will learn about different categories of sensation, including temperature play (warm and cool elements), light touch and tease, stingy vs. thuddy impact, scratch and drag, pressure, vibration, and rhythmic patterning. We’ll discuss how to build scenes that use contrast (soft vs. rough, slow vs. sudden) to heighten arousal and awareness.
A strong emphasis will be placed on consent, communication, and negotiation. We’ll cover:
We’ll also explore tools and techniques, including:
Enhancing sensation through perception shifts will also be covered, including:
We will discuss safety considerations for each category of play, including skin safety, circulation concerns with restraints, avoiding nerve compression, and how to gradually increase intensity.
This class is suitable for curious beginners and experienced players looking to refine their technique. Demonstrations will be practical and consent-forward, with space for questions and discussion. Come ready to expand your understanding of sensation, deepen your communication skills, and learn how to create immersive, intentional scenes that prioritize safety and pleasure.
