IYKYK and If you don’t know, here’s how to know..
Most conversation on Bloom don’t have the IYKYK vibe. What I mean by this is that when people fumble, or don’t understand what others are talking about, those who do understand are kindly willing to teach and educate them. What I like about it, is that it grows the communal understanding of norms and ideas. I’ve experienced this first hand myself last week, when I made a big language mistake on my email (catch up here). The replies and comments I received from the community were direct and clear on the error and the impact, and almost all had some aspect of education.
#Trending There seemed to be a big gap between how big-news "Billie Eilish is Queer" is for media outlets, and how no-news this is to anyone under 30 and anyone in the counter-culture space.
Related, this week, I sat on one of the most fascinating Bloom Workshops “Beyond Non/Monogamies: Relationship Anarchy, Uncertainty, Indeterminism, Nihilism” with Ley David Elliette Cray, PhD. In the workshop, Ley walked us through how we can take what we learned about queering in the sexuality, gender, and sex realms, and bring the same thinking into the discussion on queering the monogamy/non-monogamy binary.

NOTAFLOF. Giving Tuesday is a good opportunity to remind you that Bloom is committed to giving a minimum of 1% of our SuperBloomer memberships at no-cost to anyone who needs it. Rachel who leads our social media accounts shared this incredible podcast and educated me that NOTAFLOF (No One Turned Away For Lack of Funds) was first coined by an Oakland Lesbian Community in the 1980s. Read more about the impact this group had on our social justice norms here.

I had an epic queer-bar-hopping night this weekend. Grateful for @queerinoakland for creating such a good IG account for discovering queer owned businesses and queer-forward events.
