Senior Engineer & Tech Lead

Remote from anywhere

Plura is hiring a Senior Engineer / Tech Lead to provide technical leadership while staying deeply hands-on with feature development. This is a role for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, balancing execution with systems thinking. You’ll work with 1-2 other engineers, but the role is primarily about building, scoping, and ensuring quality engineering work.

Plura is built in React Native and Typescript running on a Node.js server and PostgreSQL.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

Build and ship product features

  • Develop, launch, and maintain core app features end-to-end, from development through release
  • Conduct code reviews, manage releases, and ensure engineering best practices
  • Run and refine testing processes to keep the app stable and high-quality
  • Identify and implement new coding solutions and processes using LLMs and AI tools

Support analytics and dashboards

  • Consolidate existing analytics tools into a more streamlined setup
  • Design and build dashboards to track progress against Plura’s key objectives
  • Surface data insights that guide product and growth decisions

Drive engineering-led problem solving

  • Review user engagement and usage data to identify patterns worth addressing
  • Scope solutions, seek team input, and lead implementation of engineering fixes
  • Improve tech workflows (sprints, reviews, tooling) to accelerate the team’s impact

What kind of person would succeed in this role?

  • Experienced (8+ year eng) - able to get themselves unstuck in any situation
  • Flexible - the role may change over time as AI systems evolve, the asks may change, but they’re able to roll with the punches
  • Self-motivated/self-directed - independent productivity while working remotely is never an issue for them

This is a part-time position, starting around 20 hours per month, designed for a fully remote team member.

Marketing Manager

Plura is hiring a Marketing Manager to own and execute our entire marketing function — from customer insights and strategy to campaigns and creative. You’ll be the person who connects our product to the right audiences, helping us understand who our users are and how best to reach them. This role combines analytics, experimentation, and creativity, with plenty of room to scale as Plura grows.

This role requires:

Understand our users and growth channels

  • Build and maintain customer profiles to guide growth efforts
  • Analyze existing users and acquisition funnels to identify opportunities

Design and run paid marketing

  • Launch and manage paid ad campaigns across platforms
  • A/B test messaging and creatives to optimize performance
  • Manage relationships with ad agencies as needed

Grow organic presence

  • Oversee updates to Plura’s website, social channels, and community content
  • Drive promotion through partnerships and event producers

Create and experiment with new media

  • Design and launch creatives targeted at specific user segments and use cases
  • Run experiments to measure impact and refine campaigns

This is a part-time contract position, designed for a fully remote team member.

Customer Support and Risk Specialist

Plura is hiring a Customer Support & Risk Specialist to ensure our users have a smooth, safe experience. This role blends customer-facing support with behind-the-scenes trust & safety work. You’ll handle escalated support requests, monitor and improve fraud/risk workflows, and collaborate with engineering to keep our systems strong.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

Customer support & issue resolution

  • Respond to escalated user concerns across email and support tools
  • Handle account updates and requests not covered by our AI assistant
  • Monitor and train the AI model to improve automated support

Fraud & risk workflow design

  • Use risk data to refine fraud-detection processes
  • Create and update workflows around botting, automation, and reporting thresholds
  • Collaborate with engineering to tune fraud models and automation

Review reports & flags

  • Triage and resolve user-submitted reports about events or members
  • Ensure high-quality handling of safety and trust-related issues
  • Document patterns and share insights with the team to inform improvements

This is a part-time contract position, averaging 20-25 hours per month, designed for a fully remote team member.
